Harry Hills guidebook on the track (1993) is useful, but out of print.
A set of strip maps can be purchased for the walk. Shown on this map are the two sections featured in this show.
The distance between official campsites varies considerably.
This year’s trip (Oct-19) was in a part of NSW least effected by drought
In general I would choose spring to walk this track: its cooler, attractive and best wildflowers

My other walk along this track was for 7 day in Oct-2019 from Henry Angel to Thomas Boyd trackhead. Our timing and direction were chosen to avoid the Hume & Hovel ultra marathon, which occurs in early October each year.

Much of our October walk was burnt 3 months later in the bushfires of summer 2019/20
Initially we took a side trip south of Henry Angel camp down Burra Ck to take in the first view of the Snowy Mtns Hume & Hovell discovered in 1824. The valley is now farmed, but it was diverted and mined for gold and tin in the late 1800’s.

There are numerous campsites between the lake and the pines
This is also part of Bago SF. This part contains many pine plantations and occasional logging activities

Blowering Dam campsite is on a bench is on a bench left of the dam wall and just above the bare banks of the lake
Camp near Blowering Dam. Surprisingly another good site. Here we met one of the 3 other people we met in a week’s walking on this track.

Most of today’s walk crosses farmland…
…with occasional close encounters with curious cattle

Some parts of the Hume and Hovell track I think make the best walking trips.
