| Aug 14,15 | BLUE MOUNTAINS NP – Abseiling | Two separate day trips, can come on either.
Sat: Rock Pile Pass, Coral Creek, Redledge Pass circuit from locked gate on
Narrow Neck (only one very small abseil). Sun: Castle Head an awesome multi
pitch abseiling trip down to Ruined Castle, return via Golden Stairs track.
Sat: NO gear required, provided by leader. Sun: Personal abseiling gear needed,
ropes supplied by leader. Note: Abseiling Trips are classified as ‘Dangerous
Recreational Activity’ under the Civil Liability Amendment (Personal Liability) Act 2002 NSW.

| Aug 17 (Tue) | WESTERN SYDNEY CYCLEWAYS – Cycling | Begin at Guildford. Enjoy a great day’s cycling along the old pipeline to Prospect
Reservoir, then head down cycleway to Fairfield Farm and east to Canley Vale. We then ride back north along
the rail trail cycle route back to Guildford. Option to start and finish at Homebush Bay for those that
would like a longer ride. Helmets, high visibility jackets, sunscreen & water required. Limit 8 – some
experience in riding necessary, not for raw beginners.

Time to look at rock engravings, enjoy the wildflowers, have a coffee at Bobbin Head, and to discuss
gear etc. Aimed at people contemplating joining the Club or inexperienced Prospective Members,
although room for some other Members.

walking with spectacular views – Kanangra Tops, Kanangra Deep, Gentles Sheerdown, Mt Danae, Danae Brook,
Thurat Tops. 800 metre ascent. Day 2 (mountain bike ride): 40 kms along wilderness fire tails over the
Boyd Plateau & Whalania Heights. Day 3 (canyon): Exciting multi-pitch trip down Kalang Canyon (dry).
Participants can come for 1 or more days, but preference given to those wanting to do the whole trip.

to travel to Leura via vehicle than on public transport to a walk closer to Sydney!

low tide day. Meet at car park on North Head to arrange a car swap. An abseiling harness is essential.

| Oct 21 (Thu) | CHULLORA WETLANDS & ROOKWOOD | Explore the upper reaches of Cooks River and find out what is happening with the formerly
concrete-clad river/sewer. Meet 9.45 am at Chullora Wetlands for a conducted tour of the area
that was remediated by the South West Environment Centre and now provides habitat for up to 100
species of birds. After lunch we will explore Rookwood Cemetery which is nearby.

Hornsby Heights. We plan a Campfire, some walking, kayaking and lots of relaxing in a beautiful
location right on our doorstep.

read the weekend papers in delightful surroundings with a hors d’œuvre (or two) and a glass
of cheeky cold Chablis in hand. Gourmet foods and wines are an absolute pre-requisite.
