A four day Easter trip. From Dunphys Camp above Carlons, walk to Mobbs Soak
to camp, with a side trip to Splendour Rock. Down Yellow Pup to the Coxs
River to camp at Kanangaroo Clearing, then upstream to camp in the vicinity
of Breakfast Creek. Up Breakfast and Carlons Creeks back to the cars. Good

Located in station country just south of the Gammon Ranges: Mt Goddard to Mt
Andre starting and finishing at Narrina station. This would be a similar if
harder walk to the CMW walk in the same area described in ITB 263 (August
2016). Trip grade = long to medium-hard. Rob Jung has received an invitation
to join an Adelaide Bushwalkers trip which is exploring and climbing peaks
in the Northern Flinders Ranges. Please contact Rob if you would like to

vicinity of the Blockup Gorge. A very scenic part of the Shoalhaven. Trip

May 7,8 MAITLAND AND SURROUNDS - Cycling
The plan is to leave Sydney early Sunday and catch the train to Maitland.
We'll then ride to Paterson and stop at the "Tocal Field Day" before riding
onto to a bed and shower in Vacy (population of 400). Estimated distance for
Sunday is approximately 40km. Monday's ride may go via Gresford before
heading back a different way to Maitland or perhaps Tarro. As there's only
one motel in Vacy, please contact me ASAP so that we can book accommodation.
Limit 6 riders as its a two carriage train that travels to Maitland. Trip is
graded both medium and exploratory. I have not done this ride previously,
but would like to explore the area for more cycle touring in the future. As
at 3rd February there does not appear to be any track work planned for the
Sydney, Newcastle, and Hunter train lines. Please bring bicycle repair kit,

Mawson Plateau: Freeling Heights: a classic walk in the far Northern
Flinders Ranges. This is a trip organized by the Adelaide Bushwalkers and
there could be a place for an 1 or 2 additional CMW walkers. Moolawatana HS,
Terrapinna waterhole, Hamilton Ck, Tee Jn waterhole (Mawson Plateau),
Freeling Heights, The Armchair, Arkaroola village. A fairly direct route in
7 days, 85 km. Depending on the participants and there may also be some
additional shorter trips in the Arkaroola area after this walk. Contact

Jun 10-12 ETTREMA (Q)
Greta Rd, Old 4WD track, Manning Saddle, Dingo Cave, Possibility Point,
return the same way. Track walk, c.16km to a base camp at Manning Saddle
over flat undulating country. Day 2, c. 12km return day walk to the isolated
and rarely visited Possibility Point with it's 320 degree panoramic views
from an eerie like narrow peninsular 2m wide, 400m high above Ettrema and
Cinch creeks. Arguably the best view in the Ettrema Wilderness. Some scrub
on day 2 as track becomes overgrown. A good solid walk for those who don't
like ascents/descents! Bring a small day pack. Only for fit walkers.

This is a 23 day, 400km walk through the Apennines on the GEC (Grand
Escursione Appenninica) from Bocca Trabaria to Patigno. It roughly follows
the Tuscany/Emilia Romagna border. Track walking but about 700m ascent and
descent daily. Staying in refugios and village hotels. Plan to enjoy lots of

Expressions of interest sought for this iconic Australian walk from Redbank
Gorge eastwards back to Alice Springs.c. 230ks. 15 nights on the trail and a
night either side would be necessary in Alice Springs. Possibility not to do
last section (24ks)and have an extra 1-2 days in more interesting places. We
would descend 600m(offtrack)down a ridge from Mt Sonder, a variation from
usual route. Stoves only. Only fit and experienced walkers. 3 food drops.

Jul26-Aug8 WEST MACDONNELL RANGES NP (Q)
You will need to be in Alice Springs on Tues 25 July and not leave AS until
Wed 9 August. Two walks (six and eight days each) over two weeks in the West
Macs. Week 1: Explore the narrow ridges and gorges on the western side of Mt
Razorback from base camps by delightful pools in Crawford Creek. I don't
know what we will find, but it looks spectacular! Off-track walking with
steep climbs and scrambles. Week 2: West from Ellery Creek along the north
side of the Chewings Range, exploring gorges and climbing to the tops.
